The diptych is a grotesque, ornamental interpretation of the Olympic ride of Schleu and Saint Boy, chosen as a symbol of a pivotal point in the relationship between humans and horses. At the 2021 Games, the horse refused to jump and ended the rider's lead in the modern pentathlon. Footage of horse and rider, ornaments from the obstacles of the course and snippets of the television commentary are rearranged into a digital sculpture, part musical box, part trophy.
